January
December
Bruce went to Colorado to help with childcare when Beth went back to work on December 3. Asa was "resistant" to anything other than the most natural method of obtaining nourishment, so, when the nourishment went to work, we mixed up a batch of rice cement and started shoveling it in. Meanwhile, back at the swamp, the snow started a comin'. Memere and Bob had the duty of digging out. We had eight storms needing snow removal before the first of the year.
Cecile came to colorado a week following Bruce, and we spent about three weeks enjoying the kids and celebrating Christmas. Our ride home wasn't so delightful. We got stuck in a snowstorm in Denver, missed our connecting flight, and missed another flight the next day. A good time was had by all at the airport. (See photo)

Tools of the trade
The Swamp Itself
Here are two maps of Cobbosseecontee Lake (its unabridged name). It is about eight miles long and up to a mile and a half wide in some places. At its deepest, it is more than 100 ft. deep. It is arguably the best Bass lake in Maine, and was host to a national Bass fishing contest two years ago. The closeup shows the position of our house on the swamp
